Make your Mark

I woke up thinking about life this morning and our individual impact on the world. We can rock along and just get by, focusing on ourselves or... we can think outside of our own wants and needs and take a step toward helping others and making an impact on the world. It doesn't have to be an all-consuming, life changing step... just a step. Make a difference in someone's life. Volunteer an hour or two where you might be needed. Donate food or toiletries to a local shelter. Spend some time picking up trash from your neighborhood. Be a mentor at a local school. Help someone learn to speak English. Pray for our leaders.

Opportunities to help abound. Let's all take a step to show we care about our country and the people in our corner of the world.

Let's also count our blessings for living in a country like America where we have the freedom to make a positive impact on the world. Thank you President Bush for taking a tough stand to protect America. Please pray for President Obama. He's got some serious issues facing him and he needs our prayers to lead our country.
