Spring busy-ness...

At work, it's that time of the year filled with graduations, pinning ceremonies, induction ceremonies, awards banquets and many other exciting events. It's one of the things that makes my job so cool! Many of the events are recognizing the good efforts of so many people. Gotta love it!! :)

Catching Up with Friends...

The last few days have been so fun! Two of my long-time friends from my home town of White Deer came to visit me and we had a great time catching up with them. We cooked out on the grill and ate dinner by the pool. The weather was PERFECT and so was the conversation! The burgers were delicious, too!! We just chilled for the entire weekend (except for them helping me unpack boxes and throw away stuff on Sunday afternoon.) You know they have to be really good friends to help me go through all those nasty boxes that had been stored in my attic!!

They left to head to OKC this morning and then tonight, my good long-time Dallas friends came to see my house and we all went out to dinner. It had been too long since we had seen each other, so it was great catching up with them.

Really fun few days...

View from my Office

I have a great view of the highway construction at 121 and US 75. The NTTA web site states, "Segment 4 consists of the area that encompasses the Sam Rayburn Tollway/U.S. 75 interchange, from west of Hardin Boulevard to just east of U.S. 75. This portion of the roadway is under construction and expected to open in January 2011."

I can't wait to watch as it is being finished over the next few months. Monthly progress photos to follow!

Taking One Step Back...

Well, today feels like a took a major step backwards in getting the house presentable, but if you look behind the scenes, you can see that I have definitely made progress. One of Jennifer's friends is moving and her parents came by this afternoon to pick up boxes and packing materials, so I only have a few left. YAY! (Having those gone made me feel really good!) Then, Jon helped me put the TV boxes in the attic to get them out of the way and we went through or put away about a third of the boxes in the garage. Much of it went to the garage sale pile and then I have several boxes of the kid's old school papers, childhood toys, etc. to go through and make decisions on what to keep and toss. There is definitely too much stuff still, so I still have my work cut out for me. My goal is to be able to get my car in the garage by the time Jon leaves on Tuesday.... and I think we can... I think we can... I think we can...!! :)

So excited!!

Jon is coming home Friday and I'm so excited!! It will be his first time to see the house with all our "stuff" in it. I also got the good news today that Lowe's was able to get the carpet in this week and they will be here to install it on Friday morning, so Jon's room will be all nice and fresh before he gets here!
