The Reunion
What fun I had this weekend driving to White Deer with Jen and Ryan, visiting with my Dad and showing Ryan the sights and sounds of White Deer. It was quite an excursion with all of the animals we saw, including frogs, a baby owl that was still molting in my Dad's barn, deer (that we nearly hit on the highway!), antelope, and pheasants.
We also toured around town and saw a new little memorial park that is being built. Our family has a brick paver (the shadow is of my Dad.)

Jen and Ryan pose with the White Deer monument in the middle of town.
It was also great seeing several of my classmates from White Deer High School's Class of 1976. L/R Dean Wheeler, Tina Simpson Short, Pam Powers Been, Robin Martin, Miriam Carroll Lynch, Kim Kelly Russell, Caprice Shipley, and Joe Freeman. It was wonderful catching up with everyone!! :)

Trip to White Deer...
This weekend should be really interesting and fun. I'm going to White Deer for my 32nd high school reunion. Yes, I know that's a really weird number, but my high school is so small, everyone in the school comes back every four years for one giant reunion. So... I was a bicentennial graduate... yeah, 1976 was the year! Going back home is going to be extra special this time because I'm taking my daughter and my brand new son-in-law. He's never been to White Deer, so this will be a BRAND NEW experience for him. Should be really fun!! White Deer HERE WE COME!! :)

New Phone!!
I got a new phone today. It was really exciting to be first in line for this cool new phone. I sort of miss having real buttons, but am anxious to get into the new technology and learn all of the features. It's sort of like the i-Phone, but I don't have to change to AT&T with this phone, which I love. :)

The McCradys
I feel so blessed that my daughter married into such a sweet, fun family. We were invited to their home yesterday to help celebrate Ryan's b-day and after a delicious dinner of Ryan's favorite flank steak, we enjoyed playing with three tiny newborn kittens that are being hand-fed by Carol (Jen's new aunt-in-law). They were absolutely precious... and their names were Backhoe, Bulldozer and Princess. Just too cute! Then, we played a fun game of Farkel and laughed til we cried (and in some cases, snorted!) It was a great time and, again, I feel truly blessed. :)

Addicted to TV...?
Wow... the past 10 days has been a real test for me. My satellite box went out on all of my TVs a week ago Friday, and the earliest appointment I could get was yesterday. I don't think I've ever gone that long without TV... no news, no weather, no HGTV, no reality TV, no movies... I watched a bunch of old movies (via DVD player) but let me tell you, it was really weird!!
I usually fall asleep to a really low sound of the TV, but in my bedroom, I don't even have a DVD player, so I had to dig around to find an old VHS movie. Fortunately, I found an old copy of The Wedding Singer, so I popped it in every night to fall asleep. And... fortunately, the sleep timer with my TV worked well with the old VHS player so all-in-all, it worked pretty well.
But, let me tell you, I am really glad to have my TV and DVR back. My relationship with the DVR is really tight... I love it (well, at least I'm pretty attached to it!!!!!) It's really miserable to watch TV without it. :) OK, I recognize that I'm pretty spoiled. OH, WELL!! :)
